if you don't get it... that's the whole prequel to gurren lagann... why it's a wasteland... why everything in the show is apocalyptic...
the first generation of humans were attacked by an unknown entity that has sensed the human races power...
humans attempted to retaliate...
lord genome was their leader...
leader of the entity MINDFCKS! lord genome during the fight, revealing why the human race must be destroyed...
lord genome submits, and attacks allies... and since he's unlocked more of the human races power, than any other human... rape occured...
lord genome creates the beastmen, in order to recreate a civilized earth reasons for doing this is because, of the unknown entity's armageddon system now in place...
"as soon as the earth fills with 1000 monkeys, the moon will become hell's messenger"
so... beastman= substitute man... for hopes of a new civilized earth....
